This week’s #popuptuesday is pretty amazing. It combines a delicious picnic-inspired vegan dinner and cooking class led by the bright and engaging Shayna Marmar of Honeypie Cooking, with an awesome collaborative presentation from owner Ben Wenk and cider maker Edwin Winzeler of Ploughman Farm Cider in Adams County, PA. This is a very rare opportunity to learn all about the cider making process, from the growing of historic cider-specific apple varieties on their farm @3springsfruit, all the way through to the natural fermentation and barrel finishing process. Ben and Edwin are certainly two of the most passionate, thoughtful and knowledgeable people in our local cider scene, and their approach is super unique and interesting...
The meal will feature produce from their Three Springs Farm and will be accompanied by tastings of Ploughman Ciders, as well as, helpful cooking tips and demonstrations from both Shayna and Ben. Highlights include: Picnic-Style Orzo with All Things Three Springs, Spring Salad with Ploughman Cider Vinaigrette, Homegrown Grilled Pizza, Upside Down Apple-Peach Cake, and Grilled Fruit with Cider Syrup.
