The Role of Development and Construction in Fostering Equitable Growth in Our City
With a 26% poverty rate and 4.6% unemployment, it's well known that the City of Philadelphia faces serious economic challenges. Development and construction are vital to Philadelphia's future prosperity. With the benefit of progressive city housing policies and building regulations, the industry can create more jobs, build needed workforce and affordable housing, diversify the industry, and bolster Philadelphia's economy for all residents.
At its 18th annual Builders Conference, the BIA will explore what is being done to expand development opportunities, bring skilled labor into the workforce, deliver more affordable housing, and help promote equitable growth.
