• The Garden has long been a place for the exchange of ideas. In the 18th and 19thcentury, notable persons in the fields of art and science gathered here at this garden to walk its grounds and discuss abstract ideas and the issues of their time. The Garden was a place of ideas and imagination – where the passing of the seasons and the intimate connection to the tides could spark inspiration and creativity. Join us this season as we explore the land through new lenses and with new teachers. Arrive ready to contribute to the conversation.

This month, the tour will be led by Chris Bolden-Newsome, co-founder of the Farm at Bartram's Garden. Take a walk with Chris through the 1.5 acre crop field, including its African Diaspora Garden, to discuss our connection to, and our storytelling and preservation of, the land. How does the farm speak to resistance? How is the farm relevant to us today? Come join us in talking about the history of this farm and garden and the people who inhabited it so that we may, together, find the inspiration to follow their lead.
